Positive Behaviour & Rewards at Archway Learning Trust
At Archway Learning Trust, we believe that children thrive in a culture of recognition, encouragement and celebration. Our approach to behaviour is rooted in a rewards-first culture, one that builds character, encourages good habits, and motivates children to do the right thing, not because of a consequence, but because it is the right thing to do.
We want every child to feel valued and recognised for their efforts, progress and achievements – both academic and personal.

Children are encouraged to live out these values every day, in every lesson and every part of school life. Staff regularly highlight positive behaviour by linking it back to a value, giving children the language and mindset to grow in character.
The Power of Praise
We believe praise is powerful. A simple, heartfelt “well done” can make a huge difference. That’s why staff make it their mission to:

Balance corrections with a strong focus on the positives (at least 5:1!)
Reward Points
To celebrate positive behaviour, children earn Dojo points which build towards exciting rewards. Points can be awarded immediately, daily, weekly, half-termly and termly, ensuring that recognition is regular and meaningful.

Dojo Points – awarded for positive behaviours in class, at playtime and around school.

Star of the Day – a special privilege, like becoming line leader.

Dojo Shop (KS2) – children spend their hard-earned points on exciting prizes or privileges.

EYFS & KS1 Dojo Stickers – for every 25 Dojo points collected.

When a class reaches 5,000 Dojo points, they celebrate with a treat chosen from our rewards menu:
