The Extended Curriculum Intent
At Bluecoat Primary Academy, another part of our curriculum is the Extended Curriculum. The Extended Curriculum encompasses the learning and experiences that take place outside of taught lesson time and works alongside our Character curriculum. This involves exposure to cultural and sporting activities, opportunities for personal enrichment, and engagement with the wider world and their own citizenship. This is the content that helps to add character and personality to a school’s framework.
School Performances
School performances play a hugely significant role in helping children to develop their creative skills. Educational theorists are increasingly emphasising the importance of “emotional intelligence”, developing a creative mind and fostering personalities and imaginations as children make their journey through school, to become happy and well-rounded individuals.
At Bluecoat Primary Academy, we have therefore developed a ‘school performance’ schedule, which sets out to ensure all our pupils have an opportunity to perform each year. In addition, we have ensured that with each year, the expectation of the performance increases. Please see below the BPA performances that happen at Bluecoat Primary Academy.
