Bringing Children’s Voices to Life at Our School
We’re incredibly proud to be part of Child Friendly Nottingham’s city‑wide ambition to champion children’s right to be heard, listened to and taken seriously.
As part of this exciting project, we’ve been working with Nottingham‑based creative producer Nicola Curzon to introduce our very own Voice Box, a vibrant, imaginative mascot designed by children, for children.
The journey began with our pupils, who shared their ideas, drawings and imagination. Nicola then carefully brought these ideas to life, crafting a unique wooden creature that perfectly matched the children’s original designs. Once their mascot arrived in school, pupils added the finishing touches themselves, decorating their creature and truly making it their own.
Our Voice Box isn’t just a colourful character – it’s a powerful symbol of our commitment to Pupil Voice. It represents a safe, welcoming way for children to share their thoughts, ideas and opinions, knowing that their voices matter and will be listened to.
We’re thrilled to be launching our Voice Box this term as part of our wider commitment to empowering children, celebrating creativity and ensuring that every child at our school feels heard.
Watch this space as our Voice Box begins its journey around school… we can’t wait to see where it takes us!
