Allergy Safety
In line with Benedict’s Law and new statutory requirements, Bluecoat Primary Academy is committed to ensuring that pupils with allergies are safe, included and able to participate fully in school life.
All staff have completed mandatory Allergy and Anaphylaxis training through The National College. We maintain individual healthcare plans, keep emergency medication accessible and ensure staff understand how to respond to an allergic reaction or suspected anaphylaxis. We also work closely with families and catering staff, complete allergy checks before food is served, make appropriate arrangements for clubs and educational visits, and review any allergy-related incidents or near misses.
