Performing Arts at Bluecoat Primary Academy

At Bluecoat Primary Academy, Performing Arts plays a vital role in bringing our Character Curriculum to life. Through music, drama, dance, speaking and performance, we provide every child with opportunities to develop the confidence, resilience and creativity needed to thrive both in school and beyond.

Our carefully planned Performing Arts Road Map ensures that every pupil takes part in a range of performances throughout their journey at Bluecoat. From Nursery rhymes and Carol Concerts in EYFS, through Nativity productions, Christingle celebrations, poetry performances, Young Voices, instrumental learning and upper Key Stage 2 productions, children progressively develop their performance skills year after year.

Performing Arts supports our core values of Success, Take Care, Resilience, Integrity, Invest and Engage. Children learn to work collaboratively, overcome challenges, communicate effectively and express themselves with confidence. Whether standing on stage for the first time, performing as part of a choir, playing an instrument or delivering lines in a production, pupils learn the importance of commitment, teamwork and perseverance.

These experiences help children to become confident communicators, creative thinkers and courageous learners. They also create lasting memories, strengthen our school community and provide opportunities for every child to shine.

At Bluecoat, we truly believe that when children invest in their creativity, they develop the character, confidence and skills to succeed in life.
